Netflix went a bit too far with Lando and me, Carlos Sainz points out mistakes in Drive

Carlos Sainz the Ferrari F1 driver has recently given his opinion on the immensely popular Drive to Survive series and believes that Netflix should work on their mistakes and try to improve them going ahead.

The series has been extremely successful in increasing fan following in America but it is the mass opinion that in recent times the series producers have been pushing the boundaries of storylines and sometimes have gone way beyond what has actually happened.

The 2021 F1 world champion Max Verstappen has not been part of the series since its inception and has felt that the stories are a bit contrived in the series. Moreover, the Sainz famous “Carlando” bromance was shown as an intense and sometimes bitter rivalry during their time at McLaren.

Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz warn Netflix of not “over-doing” storylines

Lando Norris has also warned the Netflix producers not to ‘overdo’ the storylines as while watching the new season of the series, Lando has felt scenarios like the “Carlos-Lando” one was created again but this time with Daniel Ricciardo.

Carlos Sainz however believes that the producers are aware of their previous mistakes.

“I think in the case of Lando and me, I think it was pushed a bit too far and even all the fans that know Formula 1, that is a lot, realized that Netflix went probably a step too far with Lando and me.” said, Sainz.

“But I do believe that Netflix knows it and they are capable of correcting their judging mistakes and they will adapt and maybe make it a bit more realistic in that sense.”

“But even with that mistake, I still believe that Netflix is good for the sport.”

“I still believe Netflix is a good thing for myself and for the brand of Formula 1 and I’m going to still be featured in it if they want me to be in it.“

By the looks of it, it seems Lando and Sainz are okay with being featured in the series but just want the producers to tone down a bit on the rivalries that they show on the series. All they want is for the series to be as original as possible so that the fans are able to get the exact gist of the season.
